Finding and Telling Your Story: From the Porch to the Page

Gladesville resident Jo Ann Dadisman believes everyone has a story worth sharing and she is eager to help you find it. Starting Monday, September 26 at 6:30pm she will offer a five session writing workshop called From the Porch to the Page at Arthurdale Heritage’s Center Hall.

Using PowerPoint presentations, group feedback, and personal reflection, you will explore stories and the different ways to tell them. The five, two-hour workshops will help you craft your unique story. Perhaps you have a family story to share or an original one of your own. Class is limited to 10 and costs $85 for AHI members and $95 for others.

The following four classes will be on Thursdays at 6:30pm – October 13, 20, 27, and November 3.
To register, drop by the office, call 304.864.3959, or email ahi@arthurdaleheritage.org.

Jo Ann Dadisman is a storyteller and current editor of the Glimpses of Gladesville histories. She has retired from WVU where she taught in the English Department for more than 20 years and served as co-director for the National Writing Project, a program designed to promote writing across the curriculum in grades K-12 and beyond.
