government support during the Great Depression years. She championed the idea that a place
such as Arthurdale should be built.
Now, almost seven decades later, the fruits of her ideas are with us still. Thanks to many hours of volunteer effort, important buildings have been preserved and are being put to their best use on a daily basis. As a result, Arthurdale's historic significance will always be remembered. Many know that preservation costs more all the time--but it's worth it! Listed below are some great ways to help ensure a stable financial future for Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. and for Eleanor Roosevelt's special dream. Those who are able to provide any support to keep the doors open today are recognized through membership in special donor clubs. The club membership levels are cumulative.:
Make a donation to the general operating fund HELPING TODAY Gifts, large or small, of cash, stocks, mutual funds and bonds are appreciated. Any gift, of any amount, large or small, may be designated for a specific purpose and greatly appreciated. One of the constant and most crucial expenses of AHI is the maintenance of all its buildings
All require regular (and expensive) maintenance, just like your home. Also, funds for staff salaries are needed to assure that there are knowledgeable, capable people on hand every day to keep the Arthurdale spirit thriving. To be sure that the most benefit comes from gifts for maintenance and staff expenses, they are added to a Maintenance/Staff Salaries Endowment Fund for those specific expenses. Only the earnings of the endowment fund are spent, allowing the gifts to provide ongoing support. We ask for your help to increase the Maintenance/Staff Salaries Endowment Fund because this is the most crucial aspect of Arthurdale Heritage's existence that can benefit from your support. To know that there are funds to support these basic needs is vital and will assure that the Arthurdale story will be heard for many generations to come. Make a donation to the Staff Salaries Endowment Fund HELPING TOMORROW It's easy to include a gift for Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. in your will. If you've already prepared your will, perhaps you'll consider adding a codicil that could help Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. in an important way. If you have a life insurance policy that's employment related or outlived its original purpose (the original beneficiary has predeceased you, or your children are now out of college and on their own), it could be a good way to help Arthurdale Heritage. By changing the policy's beneficiary to Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. you will know that the policy's funds will someday do a lot of good. By changing the owner and the beneficiary to Arthurdale Heritage, Inc., you'll make a gift that will earn a current year income tax itemized deduction for you as well. Another option is to make Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. the beneficiary of some of your retirement fund accounts. Your gift will avoid estate and income taxes, both of which may be owed if the recipient is a child or other person. This is a tax-smart way to make an estate gift to benefit the Maintenance/Operating Endowment Fund. Your hard-earned dollars will make a real difference for Arthurdale's tomorrows!
